Welcome to BC Registered Music Teachers
South Fraser Branch website
Our website features information about who we are, student events, choosing a teacher, and music-related community organizations.
Who are we?
-
The Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association is a nation-wide organisation of music teachers from each province in Canada. The BC Registered Teachers' Association represents experienced music teachers who hold recognised diplomas or degrees in music. Members in good standing are entitled to use the designation RMT.
-
The South Fraser Branch of the BC Registered Music Teachers' Association is 122 members strong. Our teachers attend workshops to improve their skills and to inspire themselves to become better teachers.
- Teachers in our organisation provide music lessons to students of all ages and levels. We are committed to continued professional development through workshops and seminars to provide the highest quality music lessons. We also work towards benefits for students and parents, such as campaigning for tax deductible lessons.
-
We offer quality music lessons for many instruments – cello, clarinet, flute, forte piano, french horn, guitar, harp, organ, piano, trumpet, voice, viola, violin, and all levels of music theory and music history.
-
South Fraser RMT teachers provide private music lessons in every area of the region, right in your neighborhood: Aldergrove, Burnaby, Cloverdale, Delta, Fort Langley, Guildford, Langley, Newton, New Westminster, Surrey, South Surrey, Tsawwassen and White Rock. A full list of teachers is available under Teachers List. More detail on locations is under TEACHERS BY AREA.
-
We teach in well equipped studios with quality instruments, music lending libraries, and a full range of other resources such as CD’s and DVD’s.
-
We teach a wide range of programs, from Music for Young Children and the Suzuki method to conservatory exam preparation for Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada Conservatory, BC Conservatory of Music, Victoria Conservatory of Music, London College of Music, Trinity College and Associated Board. We can choose the program and type of exam for individual students that best suits their needs.
-
We are music professionals with a wide range of experience, from teaching and performing to adjudicating at festivals and examining across the country. We provide our students with many opportunities to perform in public, at such events as the Canada Music Week recital, Masterclasses, community events, competitions and festivals, and we volunteer to provide further educational experiences with nationally recognized adjudicators at our South Fraser Music Festival, celebrating its 49th year. This Festival is designed specifically to benefit students of all levels and abilities, while also encouraging excellence for those who choose to compete seriously.
