Carter Johnson of Campbell River, B.C. was the BCRMTA representative in the CMFTA/FCAPM competition held in Regina last July.

Carter placed second in the finals and received the Willard Schultz prize for the best Baroque performance and the Regina Chapter Contemporary Showcase award for the best performance of David McIntyre’s Piano Trio 2005. Carter will present a 30 minute recital of compositions by Jacques Hetu, Frederic Chopin & BC’s Heather Schmidt.

We are delighted that Carter is coming to share a special evening with us. I hope that all teachers will encourage friends and students to support this Celebration Event. Carter will spend some time talking about playing the piano and will be happy to meet and greet everyone at the reception.
