ABOUT KATYA PINE:

Katya Pine is a self-published composer whose works have been performed across Canada, the United States and in Europe. An affiliate composer of the Canadian Music Centre (CMC), the Screen Composers Guild of Canada (SCGC), the Association of Canadian Women Composers (ACWC) and SOCAN, Katya has written music for film, television, musical theatre, opera, concert and music for study.

Katya’s original music for piano study is now included in the new RCM grades 7 & 8 piano syllabus. These RCM-approved pedagogical pieces are part of her recently published piano solos book, “Images”, which can be viewed for purchase online at:
http://www.pineproductions.ca. “Images” presents imaginative and evocative pieces for the developing pianist from early beginner to advanced playing levels. Katya has also written numerous song-cycles for voice. Her vocal compositions are included in the RCM vocal syllabus.

Katya’s teaching philosophy is that music should be fun! Many talented people find her teaching practice to be invigorating and regenerating for their love of music.
